CatchUp - Amy Dold

This month’s CatchUp is with MomUp's own superstar mom, Amy Dold.

I’m Amy - the person behind the @MomUp social media, AND I’m this month’s MomUp Spotlight! I’m a marketing professional who’s been navigating a new normal of balancing work and parenting since my daughter came along - so naturally, I was inspired by MomUp’s mission to bring more flexible opportunities to women.

What career highlight are you most proud of?

Witnessing over 50,000 people accomplish a dream on a single day was enormously impactful and fulfilling. I was proud of our work and grateful to inspire them along their journey as Director of Marketing for the New York City Marathon.

What energizes you about your career?

Marketing is always evolving and there are an endless amount of things to learn. Because each client has its own unique set of objectives and challenges, I really enjoy problem-solving and finding innovative ways to approach each scenario.

What was the first job you ever had?

I worked in my dad’s baseball card shop from around age 10 until I went to college. I used to know A LOT about baseball cards.

What has been the best thing about  this year (2020)?

My daughter and I were visiting my parents when the COVID closures started in March. We decided to stay and ended up getting a bonus of eight weeks with them, something that would have never happened otherwise.

What has been the hardest thing about this year (2020)?

Being a single mother has made it extra hard to work this year. My work looks very different than I imagined it would a year ago. But I’m also grateful for the flexibility and additional opportunities that working remotely allows and I'm hopeful this time will inspire positive changes in workplaces moving forward.

Who would you like to invite over for dinner?

"At this point, having anyone over would be exciting!"
