Director, Human Resources

Our client is looking for an experienced Human Resources Director to assist in leading their People team. As the HR Director at this dynamic and innovative startup, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's culture and driving its people strategy. They are seeking a visionary leader who is passionate about developing and leading a strong, inclusive, and high-performing team. In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of human resources, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and organizational development. This role will report to the VP of Legal.

The role requires 4 days/week onsite in the Boston office (Seaport).

What You’ll Do:

  • As Director of Human Resources, you will collaborate closely with the People team to implement strategies and programs that improve our organizational development, talent acquisition, and workforce planning
  • You will oversee and administer programs such as health insurance, compensation, benefits, occupational health and safety
  • You will build relationships with all levels of management and guide employee experiences to ensure a positive and inclusive culture
  • You will proactively assess and respond to all levels of employee relations matters by investigating and addressing complaints
  • You will monitor the company’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. You will maintain knowledge of best practice and trends within human resources in order to apply this knowledge to policy and practice
  • You will further our company’s learning and business development to enable the success of our work culture

What Drives Success For This Role:

  • A bachelor’s degree in human resources or a similar field. (
    • MA, MBA, or equivalent experience would be a plus, but not required.
  • SPHR Certification required.
  • At least 10+ years of experience in Human Resources
  • Experience creating, leading, and implementing HR programs and initiatives at a corporate level within a technology startup or fast-growing company,
  • Significant knowledge and experience with HR systems such as UKG Pro, Jazz HR, etc.
  • Experience administering employee health, wellness, and financial plans, as well as handling employee’s personal and sensitive information
