When we use our strengths, we get to be the best version of ourselves. Participants will discover their own character strengths and in this interactive workshop, we’ll talk about the strengths philosophy, gain appreciation for our character strengths, and start intentionally using them to reach work or family goals, improve relationships, and enhance well-being; in short, Flourish.


Speaker:  Melissa J. Camba-Kelsay

Melissa is a Certified Professional Coach (CPC) specializing in leadership development coaching and diversity & inclusion coaching. She is also a Gallup-Certified CliftonStrengths Coach. Melissa was born in Queens, NY, along with her twin brother, to immigrant parents from the Philippines. From her family, she came to value education and for over 20 years, she has worked in higher education, primarily in the areas of leadership and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) learning and development. She is working towards a coaching credential with the International Coaching Federation.Melissa, a mom of two boys, earned her BA in English and human development from SUNY College at Geneseo. She has an MS in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Colorado State University and an MBA with a specialization in organizational leadership from the University of Rhode Island. She is co-author of the book Centering Women of Color in Academic Counterspaces: A Critical Race Analysis of Teaching, Learning and Classroom Dynamics, as well as two book chapters connecting research in leadership, social identities, and inclusive practice.
